Pet Finder App Design
UX / UI DESIGNER
Whilst looking for ideas for UX and UI design challenges I continued to stumble upon posts on Facebook regarding missing pets and to share the FB post or contact the owner via messenger if they had seen the missing pet.
This Pet Finder app was created to help find local missing pets and reunite owners with their beloved pets with the use of a map search, instant messenger as well as a report a missing pet feature.

Initial Sketches
I started off with some paper prototyping to gauge the various screens I would require (map, messages & report a missing pet)
Once I had established a basic low fidelity layout for the screens, I proceeded to add more detail of specific input information & options that would be required for the user to actually be able to report a missing pet

Into Figma
I then proceeded into Figma where a low and high-fidelity set of screens were created.

After collating all of the information I wanted to include for the report section (Image Upload, Pet name, Pet Type, Breed, Colour, Collar Colour, Contact No., Description & Last Seen (can use map to pin point) I compiled all of it and created a pet profile.
This would allow the user to scroll through a map to view the missing pets in their area and tap a pet to view its full profile in a an easily digestible way. If a user has found a pet and the pet profile matches, the user can then instant message or choose to call the owner to alert them that their pet has been found.
Users can also take a picture of the cat to confirm its identity before the owner travels to collect their missing pet.
Future Iterations
If this app idea were to be taken further, after filing a report about a missing pet that has been found/spotted, the user would then be presented with a list of possible missing pets that best matches the information entered during the report phase to allow quicker identification and communication to the owner.

In some instances it will not be possible to restrain the suspected missing pet until the owner arrives (Missing dog is scared of new people so keeps a distance) also stresses the importance of quickly being able to capture a picture and upload from your camera roll.
